After 75 years on the planet, a suggestion I have adopted from my mentor, enjoy the journey instead of the destination. Having been to most countries in the world in my profession, I look back & have fond memories. This is what gives my purpose to life. You are still young & you will achieve your goal in the meantime live each tournament & take any losses as something to learn from.
Let imagine for a moment that you've decided that you have decided to pick up endurance sports. Because this is what you're trying to accomplish. Bursts of speed can be flashy but they're not often helpful in a marathon except at the end.
The stretches, the learning to create a maintainable pace, your food, meditation, all sorts of things become important as you try to go that distance. But first you want to assess where you are and if you're looking to become elite, work both on your weak points, so that your ability floor rises, and on your strengths. Such that when it's time to shine you really can do that.
A person can also think of the Russian Wrestling school where often they work on having a solid technique, rather than trying to train at 100% intensity all the time so that they've got longevity. Your post indicates that you've worked really hard to be able to compete at the top but haven't spent the time to ensure that you've given yourself favorable conditions.
This might be a good time to open up some materials on endurance events, and see what advice you can apply there, as well as arranging the time so that you can absorb lessons in between events, and reset your mind. Even if you are the best player today, you need to make sure that you can be the best player 2 years from now when it's time for the candidates.

"The pursuit of the impossible is what makes life interesting." That is a very powerful thought to hold onto. It's your pursuit of being a World Champion that makes you a champion already. Keep grinding and thanks for keeping us posted. Cheers!
I randomly landed in your post. I emphaticise with you about the hotel. I used to travel for work a lot and I found even 5 start hotels boring.
It is interesting what you want to shares but it strikes me that you want to do daily videos when you don't have time to rest. You can Google it, most people who commits to do daily videos/posts fail to keep up in less than a month. The idea is good but reduce the frequency to one per week or whatever you are confortable with. Once per week seems to be the standard about people who does good quality content.
Finally, rest. Train, recover, train harder. Stress, recover, stress a bit more. The brain works a bit like a muscle in that sense. It needs rest and recovery to be more efficient.
Good luck in your path to World Champion, but don't forget that you have stadistically 60 years ahead. Take it easy.
Have you considered trying hypnotism as a path to getting to the next threshold with Chess? I’ve thought about this often for Giri but don’t know how to reach him. I think he has a bit of a tendency to choke and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I read Neil Strauss’ “The Game” where he described how he worked with World famous hypnotists in LA to master the pick up. Russell Brand did the same and writes about it. It seems chess at the highest level is both about physical endurance (to stay focused for the 5th and 6th hour) and pure mental and psychological fortitude (the Magnus Effect). If I were you, I would find one the worlds best hypnotists and train with them relentlessly while doing all the other stuff and see if it leads to a jump.
By the way we went to the same high school (CGPS) but thirty years apart. I write a popular substack here and wrote bestselling books on psychedelics and consciousness including “Breaking Open the Head.” I would love to see some of the younger players be able to take Magnus down with more regularity!
You mention meditation, as one of your activities. No doubt you keep physically fit too. If negative mind chatter bothers you, and / or sad feelings and emotions, meditation on heightening your self esteem would be useful. You can centre on awareness, far above thoughts and feelings, and this quiet confidence will help you to the top. 🟢
It's the same with Goat farming. You think perhaps following your passion will make life easier, but it's anything but at the end of the day. It's a hard road to slog sometimes so you have to love the journey and remember, you might never make it, but the journey is incredible.
I do not play chess, but I’m interested in your voice and journey. As the mother of three grown kids , my first response is a maternal one: you just told me how much you value your home time with smoothies and Chipotle, yet you seem to be propelling yourself into more busyness; are you listening to yourself? Rest is important 😊!
As you are young couple things to mention; enjoy your surroundings and cherish the moments with people you interact with I have travelled since I was 3yrs old globally and continuous to do so. Take photos at times what they mean to you and share that to the rest of the world. I have lived in many countries speak 7 different languages my father who has done the same speaks 9 different as I am trying to catch up to him. As I cherish and enjoy each and every person and thing surrounding me and helping as my path touches. The key is not to sway your beliefs or ideology into others try and keep the culture untouched for others to enjoy it’s nature that’s what makes it even more beautiful seeing the differences and keeping it with you to share to others eventually. What works for others doesn’t work for you and vice versa. I wish you the best adventure and and a safe one at that; may our paths cross.
